Explorer ProComp

image36.gif

image38.gifThe Explorer Pro Comp GM IFS system has been the number one selling independent front suspension system in the world for the past eight years. It has also become the industry engineering standard. In an effort to compete, features of Explorer Pro Comp systems for GM trucks and sport utility vehicles continue to show up on other manufacturers’ kits. We originated such features as Lateral Compression Struts and the one-piece upper control arm drops, just to name a few. We also continue to have the only system available exclusively for vehicles equipped with Auto-Trac.
What is Auto-Trac? Optional in 1998 and standard in 1999, the New Process 246 Auto-Trac transfer case traction system is a challenge Pro Comp has risen to. Don’t be fooled by others who claim to have a quick fix for driveline vibrations. Explorer Pro Comp’s new GM NP 246/Auto-trac front driveline conversion system cuts no corners. A New Process 246 transfer case can be identified by the silver dollar sized plaque on the rear of the transfer case. The plaque displays the model as NP 246. The word Auto 4WD will also be displayed on the dash mounted push buttons. If your plaque reads NP 243, it is not equipped with Auto-Trac.
For the ‘99-2001 Silverados we have taken IFS “suspension lifts” to a new level going beyond the industry engineering standard we set. The front system utilizes a one piece front and rear crossmember with integrated upper and lower a-arm drops. This system retains factory track width, steering and suspension geometry. The steering linkage is supported by a pair of horizontal links which reduce the load on factory components. Fully articulating sway bar mounts allow for unrestricted suspension travel and the Lateral Compression Struts add support to the entire system.
